Through education, coaching, and community-centered programming, the FEC supports individuals, families, and entrepreneurs in making informed financial decisions and working toward long-term stability.
Our Programs
Beyond Table Talk (Monthly Virtual Series)
Beyond Table Talk is the FEC’s monthly virtual conversation series that breaks down real-life money topics in an easy-to-understand way. Each 1-hour session focuses on a timely or often overlooked subject and features knowledgeable panelists discussing areas such as entrepreneurship, credit, real estate, taxes, health, and behavioral finance.
You’ll walk away with insight, tools, and practical takeaways you can apply to your everyday financial decisions.
1-on-1 Financial Coaching
With 1-on-1 coaching, you receive personalized guidance based on your goals and real-life situation. Coaches help you create a clear plan around budgeting, saving, credit, debt, and investing, while providing ongoing support to help you stay on track toward long-term financial stability.
This service is free when you register.
Culturally Responsive Financial Literacy Presentations
The FEC offers structured financial literacy presentations for youth and adults that meet people where they are. Topics include budgeting, saving, investing, credit, banking, and estate planning, and are delivered in ways that are practical, relevant, and easy to understand.
Presentations are available for schools, community organizations, faith institutions, and workplaces.
ABEP & Arise Community Credit Union
The Financial Empowerment Center is an initiative of the Association for Black Economic Power (ABEP), the organization that launched Arise Community Credit Union, Minnesota’s first Black-led credit union.
Together, the FEC and Arise CCU connect financial education with access to safe, community-based banking. This means you’re not only learning about money—you also have trusted places to save, borrow, and put your knowledge into action.
